Summary
This study looks at how immune cells called macrophages behave in gum disease around dental implants (peri-implantitis). Researchers will measure specific proteins in tissue samples from 120 people with healthy or diseased implants, including smokers and non-smokers. The goal is to understand why some implants fail and how smoking worsens the condition.
