First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a single session of percussion massage therapy (using a handheld vibrating device) can improve balance, explosive power, and cycling performance in adolescent competitive cyclists aged 12 to 15. Thirty-two participants were split into two groups: one received the massage therapy, and the other rested passively. Researchers measured balance, jump height, sprint cycling, and muscle strength right after the session to see if the massage offered any short-term benefits.
