New hope for stopping the most dangerous seizures?

NCT ID NCT05684978

Summary

This study aimed to see if the drug perampanel could safely and effectively stop a dangerous condition called refractory status epilepticus, where seizures are continuous and don't respond to standard emergency medications. It planned to enroll 25 adult patients whose seizures required strong anesthetic drugs in the ICU. The main goal was to see if perampanel could help doctors safely stop the anesthetic infusions without the seizures returning.
