Shock to the shoulder: new combo therapy targets stubborn tendon pain

NCT ID NCT07498569

First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study looks at whether adding a mild electrical stimulation to a 12-week exercise program can reduce pain and improve shoulder function in people with chronic supraspinatus tendinopathy (a common cause of shoulder pain). About 64 adults aged 18-65 will receive either real or placebo stimulation during four weekly sessions, while all do the same exercises. The goal is to see if the combo offers extra relief for this long-lasting condition.
