Penicillin allergy myth busted in hospital study
NCT ID NCT07194824
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study tested a new approach to safely remove incorrect penicillin allergy labels from hospitalized patients. Many people who think they are allergic to penicillin are not actually allergic, and this label can limit their treatment options. The study enrolled 165 adults with a reported but unconfirmed penicillin allergy and aimed to see how many could have the label removed through careful assessment.
