Hospital program aims to fix false penicillin allergies
NCT ID NCT07194824
Summary
This study tested a new hospital program designed to safely remove inaccurate penicillin allergy labels from patient records. It involved 165 adult patients who had a reported penicillin allergy that was never properly confirmed. The goal was to see if using a structured questionnaire and risk assessment could successfully 'delabel' patients, allowing them to safely use penicillin-based antibiotics when needed.
