Magnetic field therapy trial aims to ease arthritic knees

NCT ID NCT07443462

Summary

This study is testing whether a non-invasive therapy using pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF) can reduce pain and improve function in people with a specific inflammatory type of knee osteoarthritis. Fifty participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the real PEMF treatment or a sham (fake) treatment twice a week for eight weeks. Researchers will measure changes in knee pain, stiffness, ability to perform daily tasks, and signs of inflammation on MRI scans.
