Immunotherapy plus radiation shows promise for tough head and neck cancers

Summary
This study looks at whether adding the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab to targeted radiation therapy can help people with head and neck cancer that has come back or is a new tumor. About 86 adults whose cancer cannot be removed by surgery will be randomly assigned to get either radiation alone or radiation plus pembrolizumab. The main goal is to see if the combination helps keep the cancer from growing longer.
