First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study will test whether applying mechanical vibration to the pelvic floor can improve muscle tone and strength in healthy women aged 18 to 45. Sixty participants will receive either high- or moderate-frequency vibration twice a week for 8 weeks. Researchers will measure changes using special devices and also check how well the women tolerate the treatment.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

mechanical vibration

What this could lead to

If successful, this could point toward a non-invasive way to strengthen pelvic floor muscles, potentially helping with conditions like incontinence.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study in healthy women only, so results may not apply to those with pelvic floor disorders. The treatment may also cause discomfort or fail to show meaningful changes.
