Researchers use special ultrasound to map pelvic pain

NCT ID NCT07458737

Summary

This study aims to understand if the stiffness of certain pelvic floor muscles differs between healthy women and women with pudendal neuralgia, a chronic pelvic pain condition. Researchers will use a special type of ultrasound called shear-wave elastography to measure muscle stiffness in 94 participants. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help in better understanding this painful condition, not to test a treatment.
