Nerve density in endometriosis lesions linked to pain severity?

NCT ID NCT07274956

First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated Apr 27, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study looked at tissue samples from 65 women who had surgery for deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE), a severe form of endometriosis. Researchers measured the number of nerve fibers in the removed nodules and compared it to the pain levels the women reported before surgery. The goal was to see if more nerves in the tissue are linked to worse pain, which could help doctors better understand and treat this condition.
