Summary
This study tested whether a structured pelvic floor exercise program during pregnancy could reduce severe tearing during vaginal birth. First-time mothers at 28+ weeks were offered twice-weekly supervised exercises plus daily home practice, while others received standard care. Researchers compared rates of severe tears, episiotomy, labor duration, and postpartum incontinence between the two groups.
