Summary
This study tested whether adding peer support could help people who are recovering from opioid addiction and also struggling with depression. Forty adults in a rural recovery program received six weekly problem-solving therapy sessions from a trained peer specialist. The main goal was to see if this friendly, supportive connection could reduce symptoms of depression.
