Can sharing stories with peers ease mental health struggles?
NCT ID NCT04639167
Summary
This study tested whether a 10-week peer support group program could help adults with mental health difficulties feel better and recover personally. 299 participants were randomly assigned to either join the peer groups in addition to their usual services or to continue with their usual services alone. The program was led by volunteers who have their own lived experience with mental health challenges, aiming to build community, hope, and empowerment.
