Friends fighting HIV: can peer power boost prevention?

NCT ID NCT05161663

Summary

This study tested if a peer-driven program could help more Black and Hispanic/Latino men who have sex with men start taking PrEP, a daily pill that prevents HIV. In the program, trained participants educated friends in their social networks about PrEP and encouraged them to get a prescription. Researchers compared this group to men recruited from community venues to see if peer support made a difference in starting and staying on the medication.
