NCT ID NCT03467243

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looked at whether peer specialists—people who have serious mental illness themselves and are trained to help others—can effectively teach thinking and social skills to fellow veterans. About 191 veterans took part, comparing peer-led therapy to usual care. The goal was to see if this approach improves daily functioning, quality of life, and recovery, and to understand what helps or hinders putting it into practice.
