Heart patients get emotional support from fellow survivors

NCT ID NCT07498283

Summary

This study tests whether connecting vulnerable atrial fibrillation patients with trained peer mentors reduces anxiety and improves mental well-being. Researchers will compare 290 patients who receive 16 weeks of peer support plus usual care against those receiving usual care alone. The goal is to see if sharing lived experiences helps patients better manage their condition and emotional challenges.
