First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study tested whether having a peer (a friend or community member) talk to African American and Hispanic/Latino men who have sex with men could help them start taking PrEP, a daily pill that prevents HIV. About 98 men who were not on PrEP took part. The goal was to see if this peer-driven approach works better than standard education at getting men to start and stay on PrEP.
