Spine surgery study: ventilator pressure may change eye nerve size
NCT ID NCT07085949
First seen Mar 01, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looked at 105 adults having spine surgery to see if different ventilator pressure levels (5 vs 10 cmH2O) change the size of the optic nerve sheath, which can indicate pressure inside the brain. The goal was to understand how breathing machine settings might affect the brain during surgery. The study did not test any treatment, only observed and measured these effects.
