First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests two different anesthesia approaches to see which one causes less confusion and agitation (called emergence delirium) in children after surgery. About 400 children aged 2 to 7 will take part. One group gets isoflurane gas, the other gets sevoflurane gas plus a calming medicine called dexmedetomidine. The goal is to find a safer, more comfortable recovery for kids.
