Researchers map hidden risk for critically ill kids
NCT ID NCT07365215
Summary
This study aimed to understand how often children in Swedish pediatric intensive care units (PICUs) experience delirium, a serious state of sudden confusion. Researchers followed 676 children to measure how common it was and to identify which factors, like certain illnesses or treatments, made it more likely to happen. The goal was to gather knowledge to help doctors and nurses spot and prevent this distressing condition in the future.
