New hope for kids with tough leukemia: gentler chemo trial launches

NCT ID NCT07059975

Summary

This study is testing whether swapping two specific chemotherapy cycles in the standard treatment for children with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is safe and tolerable. The goal is to achieve similar or better survival rates while potentially reducing the risk of severe long-term side effects. Researchers will enroll about 36 children and young adults (ages 1 month to 30 years) who are newly diagnosed and at intermediate or high risk of their cancer returning.
