First seen Dec 16, 2025 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests a new program called PEARL, where survivors of violence take photos and talk about them with a listener. The goal is to see if this helps people feel more ready to heal and seek support. About 40 women will be randomly assigned to start the program right away or wait three months. Researchers will measure changes in trauma-related thoughts, coping confidence, and overall healing.
