Eye injection showdown: can a combo therapy better protect vision?

NCT ID NCT03941587

Summary

This study tested two different treatment approaches for an eye condition called polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV), which can lead to sudden vision loss. It involved 60 participants who had not received prior treatment for this condition. Researchers compared standard eye injections of a drug called aflibercept against those same injections combined with a specialized light therapy to see which was better at closing abnormal blood vessels in the eye.
