New fertility showdown: simpler PCOS treatment could rival standard IVF

NCT ID NCT07171970

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests a new, simpler fertility method called the SAIGON protocol for women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). It involves maturing eggs outside the body without strong hormones and transferring a fresh embryo, avoiding the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). The trial compares this approach to standard IVF with frozen embryo transfer, looking at live birth rates and safety. About 600 women with PCOS will participate to see which method works better.
