Light therapy may help heal facial scars
NCT ID NCT07523204
First seen Apr 14, 2026 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests whether a special light treatment, called photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT), can improve the look and feel of scars after a facial cut is stitched up. About 36 people with facial wounds will receive either the light therapy or a fake treatment after their stitches are removed. Researchers will check scar quality at 3 and 12 months to see if PBMT helps scars heal better.
