New suction device could save hearts from deadly infection

Summary
This study tests a device called AngioVac that suctions out infected growths (vegetations) from the right side of the heart in people with a serious heart infection called infective endocarditis. The goal is to see if the procedure is safe and helps patients survive without needing more surgery. About 30 adults with large growths will be enrolled.
