Tailor-made jaw plates aim to cut surgical complications

NCT ID NCT07320924

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests custom-made 3D-printed metal plates to rebuild the jaw after part of it is removed due to disease or injury. The plates are designed from each patient's own CT scans to fit perfectly, avoiding the need for bending during surgery. Researchers will follow 14 patients for 3 months to see if the custom plates cause fewer problems like loosening, infection, or breakage compared to standard plates.
