Dad's touch may boost newborn health in first hours of life
NCT ID NCT07302412
First seen Jan 02, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether gentle touch from fathers can help newborns at risk for low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) during their first six hours of life. About 98 babies will be split into two groups: one where fathers provide 15-minute gentle touch sessions every hour, and one receiving standard care. Researchers will measure blood sugar, comfort, and breastfeeding success to see if paternal touch makes a difference.
