First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 26, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tests an experimental implant (CPCB-RPE1) placed under the retina to treat advanced dry age-related macular degeneration with geographic atrophy. About 24 people aged 55-90 will take part, with most receiving the implant and a few receiving a sham procedure. The goal is to see if the implant can safely slow vision loss and improve retinal sensitivity.
