Antidepressant studied as new hope for menopause sufferers
NCT ID NCT06763484
Summary
This study tested whether the medication paroxetine could reduce bothersome hot flashes and night sweats in women who experienced early menopause after surgery. It aimed to provide a non-hormonal treatment option for women who cannot take standard hormone therapy due to health risks like blood clots. The trial involved 90 women and compared paroxetine against a placebo pill.
