Parkinson's sleep aid trial tests existing drug for nighttime relief
NCT ID NCT03968744
Summary
This study tested whether adding the Parkinson's medication safinamide could improve sleep quality in people with Parkinson's disease who already had sleep problems. A small group of 11 participants took the drug for 12 weeks while researchers tracked their sleep patterns and daytime symptoms. The goal was to see if this medication, already used for movement symptoms, could also help with the common sleep disturbances that affect quality of life.
