Summary
This study tested whether the drug pimavanserin is safe and effective at reducing psychosis symptoms like hallucinations and delusions in people with Parkinson's disease. It involved 248 patients who took either the drug or a placebo (inactive pill) for 43 days. The goal was to see if the drug could safely lessen these distressing symptoms without worsening the underlying Parkinson's disease.
