First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This early study tests whether injecting special cells made from a patient's own tissue into the brain can safely improve movement in people with Parkinson's disease. The cells are designed to become dopamine-producing neurons, which are lost in Parkinson's. The trial involves 12 people aged 50-75 who have had Parkinson's for 5-20 years and whose standard treatments are no longer working well.
