New therapy aims to break cycle of family trauma

NCT ID NCT04244318

Summary

This study tested a parenting support program called ODISEA-T to see if it helps caregivers improve their parenting skills and emotional health, which could reduce the risk of child maltreatment. It involved 153 parents and caregivers in Chile who were already part of family support programs. Participants were randomly assigned to either receive the new therapy program or continue with their usual support, and researchers measured changes in parenting stress, emotional regulation, and child interactions.
