First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests a 4-session group program called the Rational Positive Parenting Program (s-rPPP) for mothers of children aged 6-12 with disruptive behaviors like aggression and defiance. The program teaches parents to change unhelpful beliefs and manage emotions to improve child behavior. Researchers will compare mothers who take the program with those on a waiting list to see if it reduces behavior problems and boosts parenting confidence.

What this could lead to

If it works, this program could offer a practical, non-drug way for parents to manage their child's disruptive behaviors and improve family life.

What could go wrong

This is a very small early study with only 24 mothers in Pakistan, so results may not apply to other groups. The program is short (4 weeks) and may not lead to lasting changes.
