Parents' touch may help tiniest babies feed sooner

NCT ID NCT07060573

Summary

This study is testing whether parents can safely and effectively help their premature babies learn to suck and feed. Parents are trained to perform gentle mouth exercises on their baby daily for two weeks. The goal is to see if this helps babies transition from tube feeding to bottle or breast feeding faster, potentially allowing them to go home sooner.
