New app aims to ease stress for parents of preterm infants
NCT ID NCT07373002
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a mobile app designed to help parents of premature babies bond with their infant, reduce stress, and strengthen family resilience. The app provides educational content, interactive messages, and self-guided activities starting during the NICU stay and continuing for six months after discharge. Researchers will enroll 300 parents to see if the app improves bonding, confidence, and mental health compared to usual care.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
mobile-based behavioral intervention (educational modules, interactive messages, self-guided activities)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a practical, low-cost tool to improve mental health and bonding for parents of preterm infants.
What could go wrong
This is an early-stage study with no prior results; the intervention may not show meaningful benefits over standard care, and digital engagement can be low.
