Smartphone app aims to coach parents in fighting childhood obesity
NCT ID NCT06208345
Summary
This study is testing whether a smartphone app that coaches parents can help lower obesity risk in children aged 6-12 who have a high body mass index (BMI). 148 children in Switzerland will be randomly assigned to either receive standard care or standard care plus the app for their parents to use for 20 weeks. The app provides education and feedback to help parents encourage healthier eating and activity habits in their children, with researchers measuring changes in weight, diet, activity levels, and health markers over time.
