Summary
This study tested a short coaching program for parents to help reduce risky drinking and its consequences among their college-aged children. Researchers enrolled over 2,000 parent-student pairs to see if teaching parents to be less permissive about underage drinking could lead to safer student behavior. The program focused on improving communication to prevent drunk driving and other alcohol-related harms.
