New hope for tiniest hearts: safer drug battle for preemie lifeline

NCT ID NCT04037514

Summary

This study tested if intravenous paracetamol (acetaminophen) works as well as the standard drug ibuprofen to close a problematic heart vessel in very premature babies. It involved 133 infants born at or before 30 weeks who had this condition. The goal was to see if paracetamol could be a safer, equally effective alternative to control this serious issue.
