Could a simple painkiller slash opioid use in Kids' tonsil surgery?

NCT ID NCT07463482

First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving children a higher dose of paracetamol (acetaminophen) before tonsil surgery can lower their need for stronger opioid painkillers afterward. About 54 children aged 3 to 15 will be randomly assigned to receive either a standard or a higher dose before their operation. The goal is to see if the higher dose provides better pain control and reduces opioid-related side effects like nausea.
