Could a simple painkiller slash opioid use in kids after tonsil surgery?
NCT ID NCT07463482
First seen Mar 19, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study compares two doses of oral paracetamol given before tonsillectomy in children aged 3 to 15. Half the children receive a higher loading dose (30 mg/kg) and the other half the standard dose (15 mg/kg). The goal is to see if the higher dose reduces the need for stronger opioid pain relievers after surgery. The trial involves 54 children and focuses on pain control and side effects like nausea.
