Scientists hunt for biomarkers to outsmart pancreatic cancer

NCT ID NCT01692873

First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study aimed to find biological markers (biomarkers) in pancreatic tumor cells and blood that could help doctors predict how well a patient's cancer will respond to treatment. Researchers collected tumor samples using a special ultrasound-guided needle and blood samples from 274 adults with suspected pancreatic cancer. The goal was to better understand the disease and improve future treatment decisions, but this study did not test any new treatments itself.
