New surgical technique tested to prevent dangerous pancreas leaks after cancer surgery
NCT ID NCT06743516
Summary
This study is testing whether placing a temporary external drainage tube during pancreas surgery helps prevent pancreatic leaks, which are serious complications. The trial will enroll 100 patients with soft pancreas tissue who are undergoing pancreas removal surgery for conditions like pancreatic cancer. Researchers will compare patients who receive the drainage tube to those who don't to see which approach works better at preventing leaks and improving recovery.
