Tiny radiation beams target pancreatic tumors from inside in new trial

NCT ID NCT05466799

Summary

This study is testing whether adding a new radiation treatment called OncoSil to standard chemotherapy works better than chemotherapy alone for people with advanced pancreatic cancer that cannot be surgically removed. OncoSil involves placing tiny radioactive beads directly into the tumor. About 88 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the standard chemo or the chemo plus OncoSil to compare safety and how well the treatments control the cancer locally.
