Radical surgery with 'Self-Transplant' aims to get cancer patients back on their feet faster
NCT ID NCT05843877
Summary
This study is for patients with a specific pancreatic-area cancer who are at high risk for a serious surgical complication. It compares two surgeries: the standard removal of part of the pancreas versus a more extensive removal of the entire pancreas combined with transplanting the patient's own insulin-producing cells. The main goal is to see if the more extensive surgery helps patients recover faster so they can start their follow-up cancer treatment sooner.
