Major study compares surgical techniques for tough pancreatic cancer cases

NCT ID NCT07414004

Summary

This study looked back at medical records to compare two surgical approaches for pancreatic cancer that involves nearby veins. Researchers analyzed data from 2,451 patients who had either traditional open surgery or less invasive keyhole surgery, both with vein reconstruction. The main goal was to see which approach led to fewer serious complications like blood clots and which might offer better survival rates.
