New radiation approach before pancreatic surgery shows promise in small study

NCT ID NCT04128332

First seen May 14, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looked at whether giving a focused, high-dose radiation treatment (SABR) right before surgery for pancreatic cancer is possible and safe. Ten adults with operable pancreatic cancer received radiation and then had surgery soon after. The main goal was to see how many had complications within 30 days after surgery. This was a small early-stage study to gather information, not to test a cure.
