New combo attack on tough pancreatic tumors

NCT ID NCT02207465

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether combining a chemotherapy drug (nab-paclitaxel) with higher doses of radiation can better control pancreatic cancer that is difficult or impossible to remove with surgery. The goal is to see if this more intense treatment is safe and can shrink tumors to improve survival. The study involves 42 adults with specific types of advanced pancreatic cancer who have not had prior treatment for it.
