Is double surgery for pancreatic cancer safe? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT07446946
First seen Mar 10, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looked at hospital records from over 68,000 patients in Germany to see how often surgeons remove both a pancreatic tumor and liver tumors in one operation. The goal was to understand if this combined surgery is safe in the short term, compared to only operating on the pancreas. The study did not look at long-term survival, but focused on how many patients died within 30 days after surgery.
